For the documentary Tammie zoekt een vriendje, directed by Lize Korpershoek, I created a series of animations that bring the inner world of Tammie Schoots to life.
The film follows Tammie, a young trans woman searching for love and wondering whether a future with love, stability, and a family is within reach. Through conversations about dating, relationships, and her own future, she is confronted with her own beliefs, fears, and expectations.
In a brainstorm with Lize, we explored how animation could strengthen the film. I was particularly interested in emphasizing the symbolism of Tammie’s room, which Lize had already chosen as an important element in the film. From there, we developed a visual interpretation of Tammie’s inner world.
It was a pleasure to collaborate with Lize on this project and to contribute to a film that explores love, identity, and the complexities of being a trans woman in today’s society.
